Springfield, MO.
My day in Springfield, MO. Started about 7:30AM, and as I stepped off the bus the first thing I see is a sign for STD’s. In desperate need of coffee, I beeline strait for the venue, which turns out is a Shriners Mosk. But before I go any further, let me share a little historical incident that took place here. Shortly before 6 p.m. on January 26, 1933, motorcycle police officer Tom Persell noticed a vehicle with Oklahoma plates circling the Shrine Mosque. He believed the occupants were eyeing a parked car. So he pulled the vehicle over at the north end of the Benton Avenue viaduct at Tampa Street in Springfield. He found himself looking at the business end of a sawed-off shotgun, held by Clyde Barrow. Bonnie Parker also sat in the car with a Thompson sub-machine gun across her lap. The couple, who were on the run from the authorities, ordered Persell in the car to guide them out of town. Persell was lucky to be let go alive six hours later near Joplin, Missouri. Cool huh? Anyway as I head in I and some other shooters discover that none of the buildings facility faculty new we were to do a show. So no stage hands were provided, which ment we (the tour staff) had to load in two trucks on our own. Which our day only got better as it started to rain. But the hard chargers we are, we provailed. Our caterers by then had some hot chow. Mmm.. Coffee and omelettes.
I’m going to assume the show will go without a hitch. It’s the loadout I’m worried about, for it is supposed to storm, Ooooh…Fun!
