All because of fog.
Yesturday started very early in Dubuque, IA. After previous long taxing days behind the camera, I was booked on a very early flight. Literally the first thing smoking out of what is possibly the smallest airport I’d ever seen. After check in I proceeded to my gate which was 30ft from the check-in counter, but ten steps into it, I needed to go throgh the one man security check. After having my house slippers checked for explosives I took the remaining 5 steps to my gate. Which I may add, is right next to the bagage claim. I had arrived at 4:30Am For a 6:00Am flight. Fast forward to 7:00am when the pilot arrives into the waitig area, all the while CNN is cycling it’s top stories for the 100th time on the tv in the background.
He proceedes to tell us that due to fog in Chicago, we can’t leave until it lifts. Something to do with the type of avionics in our plane. (I don’t know.. I quit listening after “Do to fog…). I was so tired and my brain just picked up random verbs and conjunctions to disyfer later. But about an hour later we got the go. So the pilot put the spurs to her, and off we went.
45Min later we decended into Chicago’s O’Hare only to learn that my luggage whent onto Nashville without me, but I’m deverted to another airline because I missed my connection. So a 2hr layover turned into a 4hr layover.
So I said “Good riddens” to American Airlines, and “Hello can you help me?” to US Air. After some charm, the Chicago hardend woman booked me on the earliest to Charlotte, then to Nashville.
I never understand how people that are inconvienced think that by being rude, and yelling will get them somewhere with people who are there to help, but can with a key stroke can screw you huge!
Anyway, after time ticked by like a blade, and some people watching it was time to board my flight. Oh.. I do want to add that, in all my flying expieriences I’ve noticed that the really large airports are stingy with the power outlets in the gate areas. Where as the smaller airports have not only power outlets but computer bays and other such nicities, to accomidate the business traveler. OK, so I land in Charlotte, and let me just say. Not only is it a nice airport, but people watching is much better on the eyes. So 45min later I’m boarding again to the last flight of my day. But to put the cherry on the cake of my day, is a 3yr old jumping and sreeming on the seats, and my seat is in the very rear next to the lavatory. They always put some botanical airfreshener, so that it smells like someone poopped in the garden. I landed in Nashvile at 7:37pm got my bag Which was waiting for me,and got home an hour later. Now I know there are some real horror stories out there, when it comes to air travel. But I guess my point here is, it is amazing to me that what a little fog can do to an entire air traveling world. The ripple affect is awesome when you really think about it.

All photo’s thus far have been shot using my IPhone and edited with various IPhone Apps. My blog is still in it’s infancy, but samples of my work will be up soon.
